It offers plenty of storage for your recordings, plus the ability to play them back on up to six TVs at onceā€”as long as the TVs have a U-verse box hooked up. Which model you get depends on the U-verse package you choose and where you live, but they fall into three basic categories:. The base model is available to U packages and lower, while the GB model is available only to U and U packages. The 1 TB model is available only to customers who have the Internet plan. Compared to other top DVRs on the market, the U-verse Total Home offers fewer simultaneous recordings, but the higher-tier models can store quite a bit more HD content.

For some, those missing features will be a downside.

Like we mentioned above, there are two DVR tiers with U-verse: There are also a few different makes of each of these models. Regardless of the manufacturer and exact model of your U-verse Total Home DVR, the ports, inputs, and specs will be the same. The high recording capacity and simple interface make it easy to find your favorite channels, set up recordings, and navigate the DVR.

Like we said above, there are two different storage capacities for the Total Home DVR, depending on which U-verse plan you select: The four and six simultaneous recordings leave users squarely in the realm of recording conflicts. With a capacity that small, you better hope your spouse or roommate likes the same shows!

Yes, you simply, connect the ethernet from the UVerse Modem, to the Yellow color coded ethernet port on the Airport Extreme. Then run the Airport Utility application, on your Mac, iPad, iPhone, or web based interface, is there for the techies. Im really happy with the range, and incredible speed gains, using this new AP Extreme, and to my only I used the second scenario suggested by Marc and it worked like a charm.

I did not have to enter my AE mac address when I put the U-verse modem in manual mode it disabled the field. Went back and turned the wifi function off on the U-verse modem. Now my AE is sending out the signal and handling all my home network functions. It must provide the routing for your network. Now, you can set up the Airport Extreme AE to be in "bridged mode" which means you don't have the AE doing any routing at all and it's more or less just a wireless access point, but that means you're still managing your network via the 2Wire.

Moreover, it worked just fine in bridge mode over my hardwired gigabit network at full bandwidth, however it cut down from 35mbps to 1mbps consistently when connected wirelessly no matter how close or far you are from the AE and regardless of what device you use laptop, iOS, etc. Finally, I went out and bought an Airport Express to rule out a bad wifi chip So yes, it works wired but wifi, not so much. I ended up cancelling Uverse internet kept TV and grabbed Comcast for the internet all so I can have my Airport Extreme be the ruler of my network. I am stuck in limbo.

No one will come fix the line, but they keep wasting my time sending technicians out who can't. I was just on hold earlier today for 17 minutes. The line disconnected for the second time this week, and no one called back once that happened as promised. The service is awful and I can't seem to navigate the company to get a solution. A child walking to school could potentially get hurt by the line once it completely falls and my driveway will be blocked. I'm at my end. Even once I cancel the service with them, that danger is still lurking. Installers were inept, this was relatively new to them.

Took several days to run the line. Service was okay, until a neighbor had their service installed, resulting in disrupted service to us - twice! They were also very sloppy in running the line in the basement and burying the part outside the house. These cables were buried too shallow, just below the sod and in some places were exposed.

I asked them why they bothered to have flags dropped in the yard to mark existing underground pipes and cables if they were going to do such a shallow shoddy job on burying the lines. Added TV and two cell phones to bundle. There was too much delay from broadcast signal, so TV sports telecasts weren't exactly in real time. Storms often caused disruptions to satellite signals. Picture wasn't as clear as broadcast. Upgraded one TV to a 4K box, which I was assured would not change the duration of the contract.

They did extend out the contract for this.

  • Understand that I wasn't adding a service, just upgrading a box. In addition, there was only one promotional channel with a 4K signal and the box quit working after a couple of months.

To get a new box I would have to pay a service charge, I was told. Really, on a box I'm renting? I sent it back to them and canceled the 4K and left that TV without their service; I had to fight with them on the contract extension. I added two cell phones to the bundle, having been out of contract with Verizon. One was on a promotion, which I thought was for bringing the phone from another service. The promotion required a month contract, where they would reimburse the installment charge for the iPhone 7.

After a period of time, I gave up on the TV and Internet. They then discontinued the promotion on the cell phone, even though that service continued. Yes, I still had to make the monthly payments for the cost of the iPhone, but they refused to reimburse for that. I didn't know the two were connected. I never received a copy of the contract. They had apparently sent it to a different e-mail address. When I complained a customer service agent said she couldn't see where the two services were connected and assured me not to worry about the notice that informed me the monthly rebate for the cell phone cost would cease as a result of the cancellation of the other unrelated services.

Well, I should have worried about it, because they did stop those rebates. It's all smoke and mirrors. Their business model is based on that kind of unfairness. I have no idea what is going on here. Wish I could find another option. They basically said what I heard was not available "at this time" Make sure you get a contract with a real live person or they will screw you.

Spectrum offered me a better deal start. Customer service associate was rude and inflexible. They used to be good but no longer. Then I was moving so I called, canceled and paid it off and sent back the stuff. I recently moved to a home and was in the process of combing my bill with my boyfriend. Had problems so waited and I had been paying a month. Paid my current bill for and then am not getting charged for another account that is 97!

So calling and they just now after a year deunified my account and have been overcharging me and I got hung up on during a call figuring this all out. I just want my money I have been overpaying and what I just paid back since I owe different! Horrible customer service and no communication! For more information about reviews on ConsumerAffairs. Cox the worst , Daniels pretty good but acquired by some big one and two others; all bad, expensive, NO customer service, all services bundled with things I don't want.

A new box in hours, good, nay excellent and friendly techs.

Service; near perfect, good service packages, cheap, no pressure. Cable as it should be. I always recommend to friends. I was in November.

Talked to John from Reno Nevada. I asked him for credit for that month but he did not accept it. I paid that month full price and changed package. Cut home phone, and changed cable to Uverse and same internet. ATT did not process my change package request. I am stressed out because they do not want to change cost. I called customer service. Stayed on line from 6: So cruelly told that time frame to receive call back is hours. I told I am working Next day. I can not receive personal phone calls due to meetings but no mercy.

He told me they will call back but after all lies I can not believe. They will say, "We called. Internet and phones went down.
