The second valve barely thread thru the bracket, but I managed to make it work. After getting it installed, the fitting that holds the plastic tube started leaking. I eventually found a different brand kit that did not leak. Avoid this item, the quality is poor. I got this kit to replace an old copper line to our ice maker that had cracked and sustained a pin hole leak. I got it installed fine, but it took me about an hour of messing with the compression fittings to realize they just wouldn't get tight enough to hold the tubing in place.
The compression fittings seem to have a built in sleeve that no matter how hard I tightened, would not crush down on the line to secure it in place like it should. Finally I went to the hardware store and replaced these with the compression fittings that use the nylon ferrules to crush down on the tube and lock it in place and it worked just fine. I believe this is the reason there are several reviews stating the kit leaks at both ends, so make sure you either replace the fittings or after installing them give a nice tug on the tube before you turn the water back on to ensure it is in fact secured in place.
One person found this helpful. I was able to replaced my old broken copper line with this in about 20 minutes. Everything held tightly and there were no leaks. The product is good.

- How to Hook Up a Water Line to a Refrigerator From the Sink.
This leaked where the fridge line connected. I thought I hooking it up wrong and went and got replacement parts at the local hardware store and it stopped leaking. This is for icemakers only, if your fridge has a water dispenser, you need a different method. Now i have a pieced copper pipe and im just going to have to get a tee valve to provide adequate water flow. Instructions are quite vague. I know nothing about plumbing and was able to install this.
It was kind of a long process for me as the instructions can be difficult to follow, but the main reason for my struggle was my own fault. I would probably buy a stronger tubing in the future though as this one seems weak and flimsy and may cause issues in the future, but for now it's working great. The valve seems cheaply made but does work. The tubing and 25 feet is just right. I used the brass insert and brass nut included on the valve side and it did not leak or come apart. On the refrigerator side I used plastic nut and plastic compression washer because that was what I had used previously.
I believe I could have used the brass insert and brass nut because the connector on the refrigerator had a brass insert but I did not try. The price was right for the kit and was lower than the local home store that had the exact same kit. I'm only giving it 4 stars because it I'm only giving it 4 stars because it does not come with any instructions or documentation. So, if you have never installed one of these before you will need to look online for instructions from similar products.

Turn the cold water on the supply line clockwise to close it. Drill holes in the base cabinet walls to route the water line from beneath the sink to the rear of the refrigerator.
Drill as close to the back wall of the cabinet as possible, so you do not lose storage space inside the cabinet. Thread the water line, included in the ice maker installation kit, from the area behind the refrigerator to beneath the sink.
Leave the excess water line behind the refrigerator. Turn on the cold water faucet to drain any water left in the supply line. Use pliers to untwist the faucet supply line from the cold water supply valve. Wrap threads on the cold water valve with two or three wraps of thread-seal tape. Twist the male end of a quick-tee adapter onto the valve. Wrap the female thread on the opposite end of the adapter with thread-seal tape.

Twist the faucet supply line onto the female end of the adapter. Slip the compression nut that came with the kit over the newly installed supply line. Make sure the threads are facing the end of the line. Thread the ferrule from the kit onto the new line. Wrap the remaining male threads on the quick-tee adapter with thread-seal tape.
Insert the new water line into the opening on the tee. Slide the compression nut over the male threads and tighten it on the adapter.

Tighten all three nuts on the quick-tee adapter with pliers or an adjustable wrench. Do not twist the nuts too tight as this could damage the supply valve, the supply line and the adapter. Place the end of the water line you intend to connect to the refrigerator into a 5-gallon bucket. Turn the cold water supply valve on beneath the sink. Let 1 or 2 gallons of water run through the new line to remove the air. Turn off the supply line.
