Most of the profiles looked fake, and I didn't get a response from anyone on either site. I ended a relationship with the first person who I thought I might one day marry and learned a lot. I dated two people for short-term expiration dated relationships that were not right for me long term and learned a lot. I went to Vermont for the first time in 15 years and got my bias against that stupid state confirmed. I met someone I'm doing something with offline for the first time since high school, which is weird.
I don't know what's going to happen next year, but I think all in all I'm a lot better about asserting my own boundaries, advocating for myself in relationships, and being more adaptable. I wont get my hopes up no matter what they say because men have talked a lot of shit about our "futures" together this year. Thing is though, the online approach has been very dry for me.
I'm going for local meetups and having a much more enjoyable time approaching people and making connections. That getting dates via online dating for me is very difficult and have evidence to show for it: I had no dates. However, that's only via the online dating path; what I've learned is that online dating is not for me, but I may have a shot at dating irl if I only learned to stop being a chicken wuss and to reciprocate when I get some interest. Until Thanksgiving this year was perhaps the most frustrating year I've had dating since my divorce.
I'm guessing I went on first dates each month, with a grand total of three leading to second dates, and absolutely zero third dates. I also had two that were cut short fairly early due to obvious mutual disinterest that lead to "It's early and I'm dressed up" drinking binges. My takeaways are spend more time with friends so when dating sucks you can just walk away from it.

I am not attractive enough to date online. I need to do stuff womem do because I don't meet any irl either. My year was pretty much dry except for an unexpected bout at the end of the summer when there was mutual interest with several people. I met a few people and had a few conversations before the changes and post changes it has dropped to zero. Met a fair few women from online dating. Most of them were one and dones but I understand that's the nature of the game so no big deal there. Actually liked this does not happen often for me one enough for me to actually stop browsing around and consider real potential gf material. Instead, shortly after we first met I felt like she was starting to pull the fade and called her out on it: I need to be more patient and if someone really is fading, it's best to just fade them right back and start looking for someone else.
Operate on "bumble rules": Compared to my dating life sucked. That was mostly due to the fact that work just wore me down from April to November to the point that I didn't want to have a social life it is significantly better now. I went on fewer dates in and frankly they were lower quality compared to My goal for was to enter my first LTR, that did not happen, not even close.
I think next year my goal will be less ambitious and look to expand my circle of friends and start just meeting more people.
