The plot development was so predictable, the characters so childish, the situations so laughable, the punishments doled out were so ridiculous enough with the pig sties already! Honestly, the whole desperate to have dragonlings, but leaving the unhatched clutch in the hands of complete strangers was completely unbelievable. Almost from the beginning I started to feel that someone else, someone with very limited talent, had written this book and was using St. Don't do that, it dilutes your brand. You're better than this drivel. If you can read this book for free and have not a single better thing to do than put yourself to sleep - go for it.
Otherwise, don't waste your money. Sorry, this one was badly done. Once more we get glimpses of our beloved Daisy and Ryker from the first in this glorious series. All of a sudden she has become secretive. Daisy heavily pregnant and turning into her super sleuthing mother in law does some snooping.
Cadence hid a letter from a fertility clinic saying she's super duper fertile. So of course Daisy assumes this must mean her best friend wants cubs. To do so she'd need her own mate, so she comes up with a plan. She heads to her aunt and owner of the Mating Agency that brilliantly matched her with her very own beloved.
On her way in she passes a rather handsome man named Orion. Her aunt informs her this uber rich hunk is in fact a dragon. Cut to Cadence confessing to Daisy that she's no longer a wolf.

In fact she can no longer shift at all. Shocked, Daisy asks what's going on. Apparently Cadence's father was a dragon. When her mum learned she was pregnant she fled without telling anyone. She had hoped her Dragon side would forever remain dormant, but that's not the case.
Dragon females have a low fertility rate, and of those that get pregnant many lose the babies. Cadence learned she's a rarity as she's super fertile.

Due to some sneakiness from Daisy, Orion and Cadence are introduced and sparks fly. Soon after it quickly becomes a dragon version of the Hatfield and McCoy rivalry. We quickly learn Cadence is an ice Dragon and Orion a fire Dragon. As a rule those dragons don't get along. NOT the case here as both feel an instant connection. Lots of humor, sparks, and ups and downs happen in here.
If you haven't read the first book, it's not mandatory but you may get a better sense of the world this book exists in. You will be on pins and needles throughout this book. Will Cadence learn to shift into a dragon or breathe ice? Will she beat the archaic rules where any ice Dragon can basically claim her as their own, or will true love win out? Tons of laughs and lots of love I hope we get future Dragon stories and much more in the Mating Series.
Have fun and read this book. While you're at it, check out the other books written by this amazing author. I promise if you enjoy shifter books then you will love reading all these! A misunderstanding at dinner sends Cadence off into trouble. Orion saves her and explains why he behaved as he did. Totally understandable once you know why. Fire and Ice dragons have not mixed due to a problem years earlier. What follows is a lot of fun with sniping fire and ice dragons, meddling mothers and with the obligatory baddie and some good dust ups. The family interactions were quite good.
I really enjoyed this story and hope we see more of these characters. But she's an ice dragon and what's more, she doesn't know how to shift. There is a lot of conflict about whose mate she will be, and a lot of conflict in general because the two types of dragons don't get on well.

The book is well-written and, surprising for an electronic book, no typos. The characters are well developed, and the plot interesting. The dialogue is well-written and at times quite witty. But it bothered me that Candace didn't even challenge the sexism inherent in the culture. That sexism should have been a source of conflict in the story.

And very very wealthy, and strong! This is a wonderful ride through Dragon policies and fertility issues..
They may find the solution for everything or lose it all including Cadence's life and that of their young! Can they bring the Dragon clan together of will the clans destroy each other?
