Our relationship is going pretty swell despite the distance. Oof, that's a bummer. None of the girls I've talked to on OkCupid have been able to keep an intellectual conversation, this is a huge turn off.
Have you tried talking about things they might find interesting? I tend to find that most people not all are intelligent and passionate in some area. And just an additional note - not aimed at you in particular, but general OKC advice - saying more than just "hi, how are you" in that initial message to a girl is really nice too. I know exactly what you mean. I'm 22, have a degree from UCF, and work full time. My friends are all in serious relationships with girls they met in high school and none of their friends are It's tough too because they don't like to go out nearly as much as I would..
I still have the occasional date every now and then but haven't had anything worthwhile lately. I had an Okcupid account very briefly about a year ago. Had pretty good success as far as messaging was concerned. Thinking about starting it up again.. The Orlando dating scene can be amazing or miserable just depending on the kind of girl you are looking for.

There are many 'stereotypically' beautiful tan, thin , nice girls. But I've found that there are aren't many intelligent girls. The same could be said about the guys too, for sure. Not many people with a sense of style or strong intellectual curiosity.
Lots of laid back people who like the beach. I think most of the bright people--after they get out of high school in the Central Florida area--realize that Orlando's not the best place for academic pursuits.

Many of them scurry off to Gainesville or out of state. Professionally it's kind of limiting as well: A decent looking girl can create a profile and expect an avalanche of messages in no time. The quality of guy they encounter may not be the greatest, but at least they won't be very lonely for very long. Guys on the other hand are force to send out tons of messages hence why girls receive so many in sort of a "shotgun" approach to online dating.

They just throw themselves out there and hope for the best. And I don't know what it is about the kind of girls that go on OKCupid, but I whenever I browse the women on there I'm constantly turning into long neck guy. But then I go to Publix down the street and I swear there is an amazingly attractive girl around every corner. So if you have mid to high standards, OKC is probably not the best place to go. This is the truth but it seems every girl that catches my eye on the street has a ring or a girlfriend.

I feel like UCF's come a long way from when I went there. The profile's going up, the campus has become a whole lot nice, there's a medical school now, etc. I'm in my late 20s now. I do the long neck thing fairly often too. Online dating has it's pros and cons, but I think one of them can be your physical features. That measuring-up-a-guy-for-dating pretense changes who I may or may not speak too.
I don't care what my friends look like. Whether or not I'm physically attracted to them is not an issue. But when it comes to dating, like when someone sends a message on OKC Looks definitely aren't everything, but I don't want to already be cringing when I see your photo. But I didn't go to college because I have some kind of academic fetish -- I just wanted to get a degree and find a job I like.
To me, it was more important what I put into it, rather than expecting the institution itself to shape me on its own. I know it's a lot more complicated than that, but that was my general feeling getting out of high school. And now, having graduated in and steadily employed since then, I feel like I made the right choice. I don't think there's any shame in being picky physically. I care about the surface as well as what's underneath when it comes to dating. But looking for the "full package" does require a lot of patience for guys and girls alike. I'm like a cult film.

Not a lot of girls are into me, but the ones that are seem to obsess over me. They usually cannot fathom how I am single. It's frustrating--especially when I'm not into said girls. My OKC link for reference. I agree with what you're saying about UCF and what you get out of going to school. University is definitely about what YOU put in. Getting in is one thing, but what you make of the experience is all on the student.
Lol, I actually get a similar response. I'm not amazing or anything myself, I don't think, but I do know I am a nice person, lol.

While they get next to no messages, I get more than I care to field. Some of those messages are to tell a guy off for being a creep. I'll attest to OkCupid not being a great place. I was on there for maybe a couple years, and consistently found myself with somethings who had no direction of ambitions in life, and still carried-out their days like they were Among the bad dates I've had on there, some highlights:.
The girl who conned me into paying her friend's bar tab her friend showed up mid-date , by having it tacked onto mine when I went to the bathroom. She had a boyfriend 4 days later. The girl who showed up to hours late for a date, after saying she'd be there in 5 minutes after she got dressed. When she arrived, she was 30 pounds heavier than her pictures showed, and immediately talked about how she spent an hour and a half getting blazed before she left. I dismissed myself, and and told her I didn't think we were what each other was looking for.
The girl with crack in her purse. Left her at a gas station, and drove home. And the endless number of women who openly told me I was boring, and acted like I'm in my 40's. If that's how you want to describe somebody with a career, and the will to at least try and organize their life, then sure. Think what you like.
