I still think this tank shows some potential, and I might run it for awhile with what some would consider the 'lesser' SA35 gun and smaller turret. For the MM spread, you'll have to note the demographics of the server as well when you're playing.

As for WR, you'd also have to note the server's skill demographic, the deviance of XVM per team from null, your own concentration, fatigue, mood, rig specs, and a lot of other concerns. Unlike a lot of tanks the AMX 40 still retains a lot of protection while being engaged from the side. The turret can be very difficult to damage due to the odd angles on it so only fire if you can hit the T9 and T10 areas as they are the weakest. You will have to use the 47mm SA35, but the 75mm isnt much better. The AMX 40 will often be faster on flat ground if driven backwards. However, this is not recommended, as you will expose your weak rear armor. One way to counter the poor penetration on the 75mm gun is to only carry HE.
