Dirt to Daytona from PS2 had a better set up rig than this game! I'm not sure if it's the expectations is where the problem is. If anyone who's played GT5 early in it's life knows, don't expect much - just cross your fingers and hope for the best! Seeing the state of GT6 missing vital online features which make or break any game , it seems like PD is relying solely on GT name as a franchise rather than the game itself.
Kaz has been all over the place promoting and inventing new things to incorporate into the game but I'm not sure if it's to benefit the game or the name. With that said, on the other hand it seems like people just like to hate. People use words like "utterly disgusting", "abomination", or "completely useless" to describe the game - either their thesaurus is broken or they have no idea what they're talking about.
Sure the game has a few missing features, but an "abomination"? For what the game is, it seems pretty solid.
We have all the core elements of a racing game and are all done really well IMO. It should have one advantage over GT6: Which isn't to say there are no good games on PS3 because there are. The series isn't even close to dead.
It's still selling a lot of copies, and can go on like that for a long time yet, especially if they keep recycling their assets like they have been. I will say that the series is not anywhere close to as special as it once was though. That has definitely changed. PD has squandered the quality advantage they used to have over everyone else, while not adopting what are now standard features in every other game. So many other companies have gone so far in the genre, while GT has remained relatively unchanged.
In other news, they just unveiled Alpine's VGT - https: I think the series is fine, the message board format is what's dying. Especially this boards antiquated dual color format. The general mood around here is mostly negative while the silent majority skims the threads for news or advice.
Why bother to post? I think the vast majority of us came to Gfaqs to meet people to trade with. With no trading in GT6 there's no need to even come by here anymore. I'm actually enjoying 6 as much as 5 if not more. This looks to continue the downward trend. Online is cool, but that should be an added feature, not the whole point of the game. Looks like the end of a franchise to me. I been keeping up with the news, web sites and blogs and forums.

GT has always been the best selling game for PlayStation. I think they really screwed the pooch this time. I guess that what you get for being a loyal to Sony PlayStation. Lord have mercy, no a spec or b spec racing. They started fresh and reimagined everything from the ground up. Cut the game series you love a little slack, and understand that this is what they will be building on for the next years.
At least wait for some reviews, or playtime before declaring it terrible. We have wait 4 years since PS4 launched for a new GT, they new about the new console months before it was released and had dev kits, this game almost launched in Nov , but got almost a year of delay. No campaign mode to speak of license tests are not campaign mode. No AI so no single player anything. No racing your favorite circuits offline. No anything that was in GT in every previous iteration. No, this is an unmitigated disaster for a huge section of the fanbase of Gran Turismo. Hey, PD, you ditched a huge section of your fans by excluding all modes of the game except multiplayer online.
What a grand idea that is…not. This is an absolute no buy for me. All I know is I despise the always online crap, I despise forced multi-player in games known for their single player content, and I currently despise the amount of time I wasted waiting for PD to make good on the promis of Gran Turismo on PS4. So we are building for future versions of the console rather than the one we see today. Now and in the future.
GT fans know that Polyphony aims for perfection, and this often comes with delays. A lot of devs can crap out an iterative racing game every couple of years, but who besides a GT player Jann Mardenborough can say that game landed them a real life racing seat. There is a reason for that.
PS vouchers are not available in all countries. How can we overcome this issue? These days it can not be seen anywhere on the website of Gran Turismo. Is this promise not a promise any more? Please like my comment so it becomes a kind of petition to Gran Turismo Sport to include every Nation in the game. I can predict this is going to be an issue when people start trolling and causing as many chain reaction crashes as they can just to mess everyone over.

These damn gaming companies are making a killing off us players!! Why do we all have to suffer with these ridiculous prices? Shame on you Sony and polyphony. They marketed this wrong.
