The majority of the bow is missing; a short length projects from one side of the shank and terminates in a worn break. There does not appear to be a collar separating shank and bow. The shank appears to be solid and exhibts a moulded double collar just above the projecting rectangular bit. A single cleft divides the bit into two opposing wards. The shank projects slightly beyond the ward, terminating in a transverse break.
The size of the key would suggest it was used in a substantial rotary door lock, rather than for a casket.
